Experience the Onsen culture

Onsen, or hot spring baths, are a staple of Japanese culture. Winter is the best time to enjoy a soak at an onsen. Take your pick from hot spring resorts in the mountains that offer open-air baths with wonderful views. Minakami Onsen in Gunma and Nozawa Onsen in Nagano lure with an onsen experience amidst the backdrop of a snowy landscape.
