BSE partners with India's translation solutions leader, Ulatus, to attract foreign investors for its "Ease of Doing Business in India" Initiative

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) like all other exchanges in the world strives to attract foreign portfolio investors (FPIs). For this, access to the Indian capital market has to be made very convenient for the FPIs in a language they understand. To achieve this, BSE embarked upon a dedicated section on their website to offer a comprehensive portal to disseminate all the information in their native language. Ulatus, India’s leading translation company, was cherry-picked as the translation partner owing to their proven track record in localizing subject-specific content in over 50 international languages.

The content to be localized included highly technical in topics such as the role of the regulators, the role of various intermediaries involved in servicing them, costs, taxation, FAQs, etc. BSE decided to translate the website in 9 different languages - Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, and Russian. Different regional investment communities have different localization needs. The behavior of investors in Germany is very different from those in France, Japan, and China so the messaging had to be personalized for each country. In order to personalize content, it was important that Ulatus understood the needs of investors in each country.

“Their overall service delivery was simply WOW. They were in constant touch with us, briefing us about the progress at every stage. We had a dedicated account manager who understood all our specifications. The extent of detailing they did for us was great. Ulatus tremendously helped BSE spread awareness amongst global investors for investing in India”, says Viraj Kulkarni, a consultant to BSE.

BSE+India say “Welcome to India; invest in India”!

This partnership goes much deeper than one single project. Ulatus and BSE have also partnered for India INX, India’s first international stock exchange that was inaugurated by our Honorable Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi. India INX aims to stay on top of trading activities with an astonishing median trade speed of 4 microseconds as well as ensure 22 hours of operation time. With the vision to emerge as the premier Indian stock exchange with best-in-class global technology, products innovation, and customer service, India INX is a gateway to raise capital for India’s infrastructure and development needs and allow international investors and NRIs to trade from anywhere across the globe. They trusted Ulatus in their mission to communicate the message globally. They needed translation into 7 foreign languages in just 2 days. With the help of Ulatus, India INX should be successful in securing a lucrative share of the $48 billion of trade from Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai.
