Delhi Metropolitan Education, affiliated to GGSIP University and situated in Sector 62, Noida, recently hosted a large number of activities for its students. The institute, which boasts of stunning infrastructure andcontains the DME Law School, DME Media School, and DME Management School, is clearly emerging as one of the best and most exciting places to pursue high-quality education.
DME Law School added a feather to its cap by succesfully organizing its 3rd Annual National Moot Competition from 5th-7th April. This was fresh at the heels of a vibrant National MUN Competition in the preceding week. The events saw heavy participation from leading law schools on the country. During the year, DME Law School organised numerous workshops and lectures under its Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer series that saw some of the top judges, lawyers and corporates visiting the campus. Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Bahl, Dean of the Law School and former district judge, motivates students and personally supervises free coaching for final year students appearing for judiciary examinations. The Law School has also initiated legal aid activities through its recognised Legal Aid Centre and adopted a village in Noida for this purpose. Prof P.N. Parashar, a judicial officer with over 35 years of service and former Member of CCI & CAT, heads the legal aid team at DME.
DME Law School capped the session by organising a conference on Mergers & Acquisitions in collaboration with the DME Management School. Competition Commission of India (CCI) was a partner in the event. DME Management School also independently invited manyluminaries throughout the year as part of its Peter Drucker Lecture Series. Dean of the Management School and Director, DME, Prof. (Dr.) Ravikant Swami, is working on establishing strong ties with industry and academia alike.
DME Media School has had a particularly exciting year, having organised several international events. DME Media School in association with Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia successfully organized 4-day CINEASTE International Film Festival of India – CIFFI 2019 from April 17th to 20th with an objective to promote cross culture films and bring together artistically inclined minds. The festival was organized in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, Delhi International Film Festival etc., and was graced by eminent personalities including Mr. Tigmanshu Dhulia and Mr. Khalid Mohamed. Prof (Dr.) Ambrish Saxena, Dean of the Media School and Director of DME Productions, has been working actively in increasing collaborations and effectively providing best exposure and opportunities to students.
Even as strict academic ambience is maintained by Head (Academics-Law) Prof. (Dr.) Bhavish Gupta, students are encouraged to learn, practice, collaborate and participate in an array of cultural/technical activities through the 10+ fully active student-run societies at the campus. The end result is development of learned and able professionals, and this was acknowledged by the large number of exmployers who visited the campus for recruitment during Placement Week in April.
In addition, the Research Cell of DME has enjoyed notable success with over 10 research books of the institution published in the year. A latest compilation, Research at DME-2018, was published by Thomson Reuters. Many more research projects are on the way.
At the helm of affairs at DME is its Director-General, Justice Bhanwar Singh. Former Judge of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Singh ensures DME puts utmost emphasis on polishing communication and decision-making skills as these are the primary conditions for success in all fields.The Chairman of DME, Mr. Vipin Sahni, expressed his appreciation of the efforts all are making in the success story of DME.
