At the close of another academic year in May 2019, the results speak for themselves at Delhi Technical Campus (DTC), Greater Noida. The institute runs B. Tech, BCA, B. Arch, and MBA courses under the affiliation of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University at Dwarka, New Delhi.
The pioneering institute, which is amongst the oldest affiliated to GGSIPU in Greater Noida, has blazed a fiery trail since its inception. Students from all the courses run by the institute have secured top ranks in the GGSIPU end term examinations, even securing the 1st Rank in the University. Harshit Aggarwal of Civil Engineering and Himanshi Sharma of Architecture have bagged gold medals in the University examinations in the academic session of 2017-18. Sanjeev Maurya, ECE final year student filed a patent on ‘Clip based Illuminator’ under the mentorship of Dr. Kumar Shubham (HoD ECE) and Dr. Urvashi Singh.
The students of DTC have performed exceedingly well in this placement season as well. DTC has a well-established Training and Placement Cell to assist students to incorporate induction. With this aim, DTC has signed several MoUs with Oracle, Amazon Web Services, Palo Alto, ICT Academy including an MoU with the world’s best design software company Autodesk Design Academy. Alumni of DTC are currently pursuing higher education from prestigious institutions like IIT, IIM, etc.
DTC also emphasizes on producing job providers rather than job seekers. But entrepreneurship is a journey of high stakes- the risks and rewards are both substantially more than any salaried job. To promote entrepreneurship amongst students, a one-day Conclave was organized by School of Management on 'MSMEs: Prospects and Challenges' at DTC to learn and share the perspectives and wisdom of industry experts on entrepreneurship. It had the objective of developing the strategic and risk-taking skills of budding entrepreneurs.
The achievements of Delhi Technical Campus as an environmentally responsible institute have also seen marked progress this year. The Civil Engineering faculty have published papers on topics of environmental relevance like 'Water quality analysis of railway stations of Jaipur city' and 'Performance analysis of eco-friendly concrete containing acid treated recycled aggregate'. A paper on ‘Design of Energy Efficient Airport using TEG on Runways’ by Ms. Sreeja Kacker has won the Best Paper award at the International Conference on Smart Cities ICSC 2019, organized by the Jamia Milia Islamia. As part of Harit Prem Bharat Mahotsav, the Indian Green Building Council's initiative to spread awareness of green buildings, the School of Architecture organized a guest lecture by IGBC certified professional Somya Dubey. As part of the green initiative students of the B.Arch course constructed eco-friendly shading devices in the campus as curriculum work.
To fulfill its vision of being the most preferred destination of higher education among students and teachers, DTC promotes the development of its students and faculty members on a continuous basis by organizing various events from time to time. With this aim, DTC organized a one-day webinar on 'Challenges in Antenna Miniaturization and Barriers to Espionage and Hacking' by Prof. Dhiraj Sinha, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. The faculty at the institute has, in fact, published numerous papers in many distinguished national and international journals this year.
Such awards and accolades of students and teachers endorse the fact that the institute is one of the best institutes affiliated to the university. The institute has been awarded A/A+ grade for several successive years by the GGSIPU and is also starting with the Bachelors in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) course from the 2019-20 session.
